Part of the Carvoeiro golf complex, Pinta is set in a lovely rural area, with ancient olive trees, figs and almond groves featuring wherever you look. Ranked amongst the best in Europe, the course is both attractive and demanding as it winds through the algarve countryside.
This challenging course with its two lakes and strategically placed bunkers is designed for golfers of all levels. With dog-legs on most of the par 4's and 5's accuracy is called for, and the course starts off with three par 4's. The par 5 4th needs thinking through carefully with rough to the right and ‘out of bounds' to the left requiring an accurate drive. A bunker lurks at the landing area for the second shot and the green itself is well protected and very fast. The par 3 5th not only has bunkers to the left of the green but a lake to the right and behind.
On the back nine the par 4 13th has a lake to the left of the fairway. The brave long-hitter may attempt to play over it but the safe shot will be to the right of the lake adding about another 25m to this slight dog-leg. The par 5 18th makes for a great finish requiring three good long shots to reach the green with a careful selection of clubs required for the third shot to the green against the wind.
