This 18 hole course was designed by Ronald Fream originally and then redeveloped by Mcevoy and Swann. Located next to the Ria Formosa National Park with its wealth of interesting flora and fauna, Pinheiros is a delight to play both technically and aesthetically.
The front nine runs through pine trees on gently rolling land whilst the contrasting back nine winds its way between lakes. Accuracy is required when playing here with the par 3 2nd protected by bunkers and the par 3 5th requiring a careful selection of club to cope with the wind, the sloping raised green and the pine tree to the left.
The back nine offers its own challenges with water coming into play on many of the holes. The par 5 12th requires accuracy with a lake to the left of the narrow fairway. The par 3 17th is quite demanding and will catch you out if you are not careful as it slopes from back to front with water and a bunker close to the green.
A well regarded and popular course.
