Situated in a stunning position close to the Alcornocles Natural Park and within easy reach of Jerez and Gibraltar, the Fairplay Golf Hotel & Spa has been designed with the needs of the golfer in mind. This 5 star hotel is one of the best and most luxurious golf hotels we have seen with golf, a la carte dining, first class wines and all your drinks included in the price!

Designed in Andalucian style, each area is themed with small courtyards and gardens enhancing the impression of being part of a traditional small white village and the views across the valley and the golf course are superb.

We especially enjoyed the superb dining experience at this hotel, with a choice of restaurants including Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, the Brunch Room open throughout the day for breakfast and light lunches and the Brasserie by the Pool with its international cuisine. Our pre-dinner drinks in the comfortable bar were accompanied by very tasty appetisers and we had to be careful not to spoil what was an excellent meal in the French restaurant!

The golf club is part of the hotel and hotel guests have priority tee times and high handicappers are only permitted to play after 12.30. The first tee is positioned above the clubhouse so you can enjoy a superb view across the course as you take your first shot. We finished our round with a 3-course lunch and a bottle of good Spanish wine and then spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool - glorious!

The Spa Centre is geared up to offering treatments specifically for golfers and its large bay windows provide magnificent views across the valley. The Aquamedic pool is huge and includes different kinds of water treatments. The spacious relaxation room has access to the outdoor terrace and Zen garden, as well as a health bar. You will have to pay for any specific health and beauty treatments you may want, but the rest of the facilities in the Spa are free of charge.

The Fairplay Golf Hotel has to be the place to go if it is total relaxation you want from your golfing holiday, free from all worries!

"A truly magnificent hotel! This was our second visit (previously April 2007) and we noticed some changes. Spanish restaurant replaced by Italian, French by Mediterranean. Mediterranean food was of a very high standard. Lunches at pool restaurant were superb. Course is much improved with very fast greens. Tee-times can be difficult as play can be very slow later in the day. We played in a 2 at about 8.40am and had excellent rounds but would prefer a later start! Spa/gym are first rate.
