The second Carvoeiro course, Quinta do Gramacho is a full 18 holes set on undulating land with narrow fairways. Like its sister course, Pinta, it is set in superb countryside and there are some testing holes requiring technical accuracy and a good knowledge of the best club to choose. In particular the 7th requires two long and accurate shots to reach the green.
Starting with a par 4 where trees and outcrop of rocks characterise the fairway, you move onto the 2nd with strategically placed lone pines forcing you to play to the left. The par 4 5th is a dog-leg left narrowing as you reach the generous, yet tricky green. Again, a lone tree protecting the green at the par 3 7th will affect your line of play and you will reach the signature hole at the 10th. An attractive hole, this par 3 plays from an elevated tee and the green is surrounded by tall palms, a fountain and a lake.
