Built in 1934 and the oldest Italian course, Ugolino is short but challenging designed to make the most of the natural terrain within the chianti hills.
The fairways are lined with olive and cypress trees and follow the natural lie of the land whilst the small greens are well defended. The front nine is quite rolling whilst the back nine is more level but nonetheless demanding and accuracy of play is demanded throughout. The 15th is perhaps the most difficult hole with a well defended green that slopes to the right making it difficult to select the right shot. The final hole is a dog-leg right with an uphill second shot where careful consideration and accuracy is paramount. You'll be glad to reach the 19th!
