Golf Courses in Portugal

The Algarve is a well established golf holiday destination and many golfers return to the area year after year. The courses are excellent and you never have to travel too far to reach one, especially if you are staying in the purpose-built marina and golf area of Vilamoura. The western end of the Algarve features golf courses that are not quite as busy as the central Algarve. You will find courses like Gramacho and Morgado a delight to play and the famous championship course at Penina is a must to play! The area around Lisbon is still relatively unknown as a golf holiday destination, yet the courses in the area are superb and never too busy. Stay in Cascais or Estoril and play Estoril Palacio, one of the oldest and best known courses in Portugal. And don’t forget to make the most of the easy train ride into Lisbon itself on your non golf days. Head over the river and down to Setubal where you can play Troia, reached by car ferry – a great day out!
