Designed by Robert Von Hagge, Emporda is one of the best golf complexes in spain. The first course is set out as a links course with some excellent water hazards and the remaining nines are set in pine woods. Each hole demands skill and accuracy. Not to be missed.
Off the fairway there are two levels of rough before you reach the high grass on the mounds, and the excellent greens are well designed and often large giving you plenty to shoot for. This exciting course is a must play, whatever your standard of golf as it is already one of the great courses in Catalonia.
In fact, in the late 1990s, Empordà golf was named one of the 10 best courses in spain. Also, Emporda was ranked 13th for design in all of continental europe by "Peugeot Golf Guide 1996". Emporda golf was then made the permanent headquarters for the pga pre-qualifying school ii european tour and, since 2002-2003, has hosted the PGA qualifying school european tour final.
