Buenavista Golf

This relatively new course opened 2003, is sandwiched into a narrow coastal strip known locally as Isla Baja, between tenerife's northern Teno mountains and the Atlantic.  Designed by Severiano Ballesteros to provide a test for all levels, the back nine, closest to the sea, are particularly memorable as you often appear to play straight into the ocean and the sea breezes provide that extra challenge.

This 6150 metre, par 72 course revolves around the clubhouse and its amazing views from the terraces.  It's a close call as to which is more pleasant - being sat in the club house taking in the views and watching others play or being out there on the course!

Buenavista golf has been evenly divided between par 3s, 4s and 5s.  Probably the most demanding holes are the par 4's on the outward nine whilst on the return it is the par 3s, in particular the 15th and 17th as they are framed by the sea.  Designed to test your range of shot, each hole at Buenavista presents different challenges and options and if you play the course more than once, you are sure to have a different approach on each occasion.

All the fairways have been designed to compliment the natural contours of the terrain and indigenous plants have been encouraged and widely used to highlight the layout of the course.

The waves break dramatically on the rocky coastline that surround 5 of the greens creating a rather beautiful site, if not slightly distracting!  the central attraction of this 18 hole course has to be the waterfall in front of the clubhouse that links the water hazards of the 9th and 18th
