Bom Sucesso - putting Lisbon firmly on the golfing map?

Situated on Portugal's Silver coast, close to Obidos and just behind the already popular Praia del Rey course, Donald Steel's Bom Sucesso officially opened on Saturday 27^th September.

Hailed as one of the world's most innovative architectural golf projects and rumoured to be Steel's swansong this course already has a lot to live up to!

The finishing holes at Bom Sucesso are probably the most impressive.  The 16^th is an uphill 300 metre par 4 with the green set into the hillside.  The tee shot at 17, a 530 metre dogleg par 5, is hit into a vista of mountains with the lagoon of Obidos below, setting up an accurate second shot and a wedge to the green.

The 18^th is also downhill and any big hitters will be wary of the stream that cuts the fairway with more water in front of the green.  A superb finish.
