Amarilla Golf

A stunning links course on Tenerife's south coast and just a few minutes drive from Golf del Sur, Amarilla golf offers amazing views.  Well maintained and much improved in recent years, the Amarilla golf and country club is set over various terrains providing you with a memorable round.

This 18 hole course's character, designed by renowned golf architect Donald Steel, is marked by the stunning views of the atlantic ocean.  The ocean may in fact be considered too close for comfort on the par 3 5^th hole where you must clear a portion of the ocean in order to reach green.  You may want to take a few spare balls with you for this one!

Although the prevailing winds are a constant challenge at Amarilla, the course enjoys a pleasant year-round climate thanks to it's privileged location.  The first four holes trail the shoreline with cactus covered hills behind you.  The second half of this track heads back inland and finally between rows of housing to complete your round.

Inaugurated in 1989, Amarilla hosted the 2^nd Tenerife open as part of the european pga tour in 1990.  The course has improved a great deal in recent years and is certainly now of international standard.
